There are just under 2 weeks to go to round 3 of this season's Soggy Bottom Series! To find out if you are in with a chance of a series win, check out the series standings here.
For those of you who don't care who wins the series and just want to get out and ride your bikes, here's a reminder of what's on offer at round 3: Loyalty card holders Collect your keyring for 2 loyalty stamps and your 1/2 pint glass for 3 loyalty stamps. All riders with 3 Soggy stamps will put their cards in a draw for some amazing prizes provided by RSF Suspension and VeloSmith:
We will make the draw and announce the winners during the presentation for race 1 - so make sure you are there to be in with a chance to win! The course The course will be different again to the first two rounds, and with any luck we'll have our first Sunny Soggy of the winter. As you know, the weather has been pretty terrible lately, but we'll find the driest and most fun tracks to send you down. We don't put scary stuff in the Soggies, it's just good old fashioned off road fun. Rockets and Rascals When you've finished your race, warm up with a treat from Rockets and Rascals in the forest - on hand to offer you home made cakes, steak sandwiches and proper nice coffee. Free under 12s racing Don't forget to bring the nippers along for their racing at 1200. The races are free, but that doesn't mean it's not serious stuff for those involved! Register for the races here. Brain Tumour Research Bike Jumble Got something bike related to sell? Bring it along in return for making a donation to Brain Tumour Research (the collection tin will be in registration - don't be shy!). How to enter You can enter online here. Entering in advance saves you £3. Online entry closes on Wednesday 8th January at midnight. After this, you'll be able to enter on the day, but it will cost you the extra £3. Round 1 of this season's Soggy Bottom Series promised mud and delivered. If we were to hold round 2 today you would describe the course as dusty - only time and the good British weather will tell whether this will hold true for the 15th December. Loyalty card holders Our loyalty card holders will be able to claim their first reward at round 2. You must bring your card (with your name written on it) to claim your gift. Loyalty card prize draw There will be a prize draw at round 3 for any card holders with 3 Soggy Stamps - we'll be drawing cards out of the hat to hand out some amazing prizes. Up for grabs will be: A pair of custom race rims and spokes (value £260) provided by Velo Smith Rear shock service (value £75) provided by RSF tuning Fork service (value £75) provided by RSF tuning Soggy Christmas Tree We'll be getting all festive around our Soggy Christmas tree. We'd like you all to bring the tackiest Christmas decoration you can find to help us decorate it. This will provide a beautiful backdrop for our podiums, and who knows, Santa may even drop in! Soggy 2 course For Christmas we are giving you the gift of some Newnham classics. We'll start you off by going up the Cliff Climb (boooo!), then swing you through the bomb holes, up towards bluebell woods, through the invisible bluebells and back out via a new and improved version of the exit (now buried under a world of dead tree), back through the bomb holes (don't worry - we have thought this through). We'll then throw you down Cottage return and back to the arena along the little river track. Once again - no wet feet (you're welcome). Number boards You will be given new number boards for round 2. Please do not use your old number board as it will mess up your result. Online entry You still have time to pre-enter. Follow the links here. Pre entry closes at midnight on Wednesday 11th December. We know you can't always pre-enter so there will be entry on the day (£3 extra). Under 12 registration Our Under 12s race entry is looking very healthy. Don't forget to register if you have not already. Brain Tumour Research Bike jumble If you need to make space for the new bike Santa is bringing you this year, you can sell your old kit at the event in return for a £5 donation to Brain Tumour Research. Come and see us at registration if you would like to set up a table / sell a bike. Round 2 prizes Our prizes have kindly been donated by Summerskills Brewery, Trail 42 and Juice Lubes. Categories may be merged if there are fewer than 5 competitors present, but British Cycling points will always be awarded by your category position. Full event information can be found here |
