Fully Sussed is run by husband and wife duo Jay and Maddie
Horton.
The
business
Building from
running a few Summer voluntary guided rides, Maddie and Jay have
developed Fully Sussed over the years and now offer a range of
mountain biking activities including skills courses and MIAS
leadership training. Maddie and Jay are also building a reputation
nationaly for event organisation and course design. They started
out creating the Fully Sussed South West series in 2010, and in
this first year hosted 9 of their own events as well as working on
several events for other organisers. Maddie and Jay have now racked
up an impressive event portfolio. In 2011 they have been heavily
involved in course design and preparation and organisation for the
Circus of Dirt Series, Soggy Bottom Series, the Stinger, the
British Mountain Bike Series and Twentyfour12.

Turning
to cycling after injury halted her assault on GB running, Maddie
has racked up an impressive set of results including:
World Mountain running championships 2008 - 18th
European Duathlon Championsips 2007 - 3rd
National XC championships 2008- 3rd
National XC championships 2010- 2nd
English Mountain bike marathon championships 2009 - 1st
National XC championships 2011 - 4th
2011 World Cup Series - round 3 - 53rd
Maddie was selected to ride as a guest on team GB twice in 2011,
travelling out
to Europe to compete.

Maddie started out as a qualified accountant.
Realising the office was not the place for her, she retrained and
worked for 7 years as a primary school and special needs teacher
before making the move to start Fully Sussed.
Maddie is a MIAS level 4 trainer/ assessor with 4 years instruction
and guiding experience under her belt.

Jay has
made a name for himself specializing in endurance events, but also
can also hold his own on the National XC scene. His results include

Jay is a qualified nurse, with 15 years
experience working as a Learning Disability/ Mental Health nurse.
Jay also holds the MIAS Level 4
trainer/assesor qualification and has 3 years experience
instructing and guiding.
